OUR MISSION
The centre’s mission is to nurture and produce persons who will in future become self sustaining by being job creators instead of job Seekers. This venture will be done without discrimination of any form.

OUR VISION
Our vision is to help prepare young adults to become productive citizens by providing a work and learning environment where they feel challenged, respected, and accountable as they strive to meet the demands of adulthood.
Mwereerwe is located in the Luwero Triangle where the 1981-86 protracted National Resistance Army (NRA) war had most of its operational bases. This war left most people in dire poverty. Most properties were destroyed and economic production was negatively affected. At the end of the war, the people had to start from scratch and lived on handouts from well-wishers. Development was and continues to be slow despite government and some NGO interventions.
The population continues to grow and many people have no formal education because of poverty. Majority of whom live a “hand to mouth” lifestyle whereas others flock urban centers in search of employment. Despite the government universal free education at various levels, many children continue to face limitations in access to such education due to many parents lacking logistics to enable their children to benefit from these programs. Most of the technical and vocational schools admit senior four or six completers. This system denies many people a chance of polishing their God Given Talents.
Faced with the above conditions, some idle and unemployed youths resorted to illicit means of survival which posed insecurity to the community. However, Uganda is endowed with ample natural resources which are under exploited due to limited technical and vocational skills. Given that Uganda is largely an Agricultural country, the government has on many occasions imported agricultural implements which end up not being viably utilized due to non availability of personnel to repair, maintain and service them. The reliance on expatriate staff is astronomically expensive.
Mwereerwe Community is mainly of peasants who rely on the traditional hoe for production as opposed to modern farming implements. In an attempt to solve some of the aforesaid shortfalls, the proprietors of Mwereerwe Community Vocational Training Centre decided to start a vocational school which would train people accordingly. It felt that the selection of persons to benefit from such training should not be discriminative.
The proprietors were also influenced by the challenge to Ugandans to participate in the government’s campaign to eradicate poverty, ignorance and disease. Ample Vocational Training would reduce on the number of people who are hunting for the minimal white-collar jobs in the country thereby reducing the unemployment levels among the youths. Mwereerwe Community Vocational Training Centre therefore, was setup in October 2005 and annually passes out a number of graduates.
